the reason is because jtags are old and are not as many left lots have fallen to rrod and rgh is new and will be less likely to get rrod and just overall better but wont really matter because xbox 360 is coming to an end

You obviously have no idea how much of a groundbreaking Hack RGH has become. It is far better then Original Jtag Hack for obvious reasons.

Jtags are old for one.
RGH you can do a lot more stuff, like get a demon.
Which I'm pretty sure allows you to switch kernels so you can have a RGH and a retail in one.
You can also turn a RGH into a devkit.

Some of your information is a bit off.
Demon is a glitch chip, just like the Coolrunner, but there are add ones for it such as the dual NAND or one that allows it to glitch Coronas.
When you said kernels, I believe you were referring to NAND, a modded NAND will allow you to run emulators, home brew, all the good stuff... and the console's retail NAND (if it's not banned) will allow you to play on Xbox live, but no home brew.

To OP for what you will most likely be using it for, it shouldn't really matter if you get JTAG or RGH.
JTAGs boot instant, RGH boot times vary.
If you accidentally update an RGH, it is usually recoverable. Not so much for JTAGs,
I recommend you have the R6T3 resistor removed to prevent accidentally updating.

Anyway, they both have pros and cons and simply put, the way most people use them it doesn't matter if it's jtagged or RGHed.
