Eh, try to go with a intel i7 or i5

i3's are a bit outdated

Go for atleast an i5.....

i7 if you have the extra.

i3 will be useless in 2 years.

This build was suggested to me by r00t and i have to stay in the $500 range and btw i dont plan on doing any gaming on it. Xbox 360 FTW

Assuming he is buying a new chip. The i5-661 is clocked at 3.33ghz. The i3-560 can compete with the i5-661 only in processor power. If he is buying any other i5 it'll have more power. (yes it'll cost alittle more) but in the long run. Think of buying an i7 now. So that in two years you don't need to replace your i3 chipset with another.
