Every time I try to play, when the map is loading, it stays stuck on "awaiting textures". i don't know why this keeps happening to me, can anyone help me out?

My disc did that when it scratched & broke? are there any scratches?

Try installing the game to your HDD.

no, there aren't any scratches. it only started happening just now, it was fine yesterday.

not yet, but i dont think it will help because i hadnt installed it previously and it was working fine. a scratch couldn't have appeared from thin air because it was in the xbox the whole time

Exact same thing happend to me, but I checked my disc and there was a circular scratch all the way round, I could play certain maps, and every other game it would freeze, just get your friends disc (or rent one) and install it to your HDD, trust me it works.
