They are on the leader boards but what actuley are they? i have nearly 9000

I thought it was that first! But my friend said that he thought it was how many times you get hit my a zombie :S

Its when you break a limb off of a zombie e.g. using a grenade and making a crawler or headshots as the limb is the head. You can increase this by using guns like the war machine and grenades Hope this helped

Me and my friends used to be at the top of every Tranzit zombie leaderboard.
He is rigth shooting an arm off or getting a crawler (limbs)etc.

Gibs are body parts of zombies which have been blown off or shot off, If you grenade a group of zombies hands, legs will fly off. These are gibs. Also when on fire shooting them in the head or getting them to explode will cause gibs also.

I asked call of duty support this and this is what they said.
"A gib is where you remove the limb from a zombie, such as the head, arm , legs etc, by using grenades or through shooting them in that limb, in order to get a gib with a grenade, you must remove the zombies legs, this will count as two gibs, in order to get a gib from shooting you must remove the head, this counts as one gib."

Indeed, its the Limbs eg, arms, legs what you break off on an enemy, i also wanted to know what this was so i google'd it =)
