I bet 50% of all the "good" gamertags out there havent been used in years. People were just smart and snagged them when they could.

That would be pretty unfair to clear out, I've had my main account for nearly 9 years now, and have been active from Xbox Live many many times... to lose my account for living my life, and trying to advance in life wouldn't be fair. I also have 2 great gamertags I claimed when I first started, they are mine - I took them. I've had Xbox a long time, why should I lose them because someone likes my gamertag? They're not something that effects you in-game... sure, they look nice, but is it really a big deal?

No they shouldn't. Some people use it to save the name until they get msp to change their other accounts. Plus it's like TTG names they are not going to change inactive members names just so you can take it. It's just not happening.

I will never understand the obsession with "OG" gamertags.

If they removed those accounts it would mess up the economy of live. Some people can't afford it. Some people get their xboxs stolen. Any number of things. But it still belongs to the owner. Its like you named something that belongs to you and someone takes it away.

Being silver for a month and getting your account deleted is ridiculous. Make it 1 year and that'd be better. I think that if you change your gamertag and it's taken by ANY original Xbox account, then it should overwrite their data and give the original XBL dude a random gt and give his to you.
