Okay TTG I need your help.
I'm looking to getting a Macbook for just basic things. I just want to be able to run stuff like Photoshop, Ableton, After Effects/Sony Vegas and also just surfing the web.
I've never had an Apple product besides an iPhone so I need some help from people who have had them. I really want the cheapest one that can still run those programs.
Thanks in advance.

The 13" MBP is hugely popular with students and professionals alike. Highly recommend buying one with an SSD to maximize speed and performance.

The MBPs with Retina Display are massively overpriced, I would get the regular 13" for $1,999. Like I said, an SSD would make it lightning fast, if you need an explanation of what an SSD is feel free to google it!

The regular Pro is a bad choice. No SSD, 1280x800 resolution, the thickest design, and no IPS.
The only good Apple laptops at the moment are the 13" Airs and Retina Pros.

This will do everything you need and I have a hard time recommending the cheaper 11" Air.
