I have Windows 7 Ultimate and that is running on a very high end PC.
Specs:
I am wondering if I should upgrade to Windows 8. Does it provide better performance in some games? Is it buggy? Is it hard to get used to? Would it be better for me? If someone would please give me some answers to these questions it would be much appreciated.
Specs:
Intel Core i5-2500K @ 4.5/4.9GHz (I have a 4.9GHz setting saved in my BIOS that is completely stable)
ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 Motherboard
16GB G.SKILL RipJaws X Series 2133MHz RAM
Phantek PH-TC14PE Heatsink (Wasn't exactly sure what to do with the 3 fan cables. There was no where that I could route them. I tried.)
HIS IceQ X Radeon HD 6950 2GB
Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB in Crossfire (I will be upgrading to a Corsair 750W Modular power supply in a couple days. I know the 650W is just enough to handle crossfire.)
Corsair TX 750W PSU
500GB HDD
2TB HDD
128GB Crucial M4 SSD (For Windows 7 and a couple other programs. Still have 83GB free on it.)
2 Monitors

rule of thumb with windows os's wait at least 6-12 months after release so that all the bugs are worked out from all the public testing for the best user experience ;), if stability is not a concern the you can do a Clean install of Win 8 i would never do a "Upgrade" from 7-8 its just asking for issues.

You don't need Windows 8 unless you're on a tablet of some sort. Honestly there's no point to having Windows 8 on a desktop or laptop, but if you really want it go for it. Windows 7 has everything I'd ever need so I'm sticking with it.

If you mean windows 8 pro. Then yes but if your not a fan of the metro layout then no. I currently have windows 8 pro and it runs alot smoother and faster than windows 7.
