Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will personally try to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club, amid fears that he is unhappy at the Bernabeu.

Marca claim that the President has decided to undertake a radical plan of action in order that the club's star man remains at the club, extending his deal beyond its current expiry in 2015.

With elections coming up at the end of the season, the potential loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho would be disastrous for Perez' campaign, but Ronaldo's overt unhappiness in Madrid is already undermining his President and his plans for next season.

Following a meeting between player and President on September 1, the club - according to Marca - were convinced that Ronaldo, and his agent Jorge Mendes, were hiding a multi-million Euro offer from either Russian moneybags Anzhi or the nouveau riche Paris Saint-Germain that had turned his head.

The other suspicion was that Mendes was touting Ronaldo to these heavily-backed clubs to strengthen his hand when it came to renewing his contract.Contrarily though, Florentino is now aware that the player is unhappy with los Blancos because he doesn't feel loved or supported by the club in the pursuit of individual awards - like the Ballon d'Or - which mean so much to the player.

Perez and Ronaldo do not have any significant relationship, with the 65-year-old keen to keep his distance from the players after realising that his close bonds with the Galacticos of his first term as President had affected his judgement.

He will look to improve his relationship with the player by accompanying him to the Ballon d'Or gala in Zurich on January 7. At the UEFA player of the year awards on August 30, Ronaldo was said to be dismayed by the legions of Barcelona delegates in attendance to support the Catalan club's nominees, while only Emilio Butragueo and Pedro Lopez travelled on behalf of Real Madrid - leading to the angry meeting with Perez the next day.

If the club's attempts to patch things up with the Portuguese fail, then as well as the obvious options of PSG and Anzhi, Ronaldo would be open to a Manchester United return , although financial questions have forced Ferguson to label the player 'unbuyable'.

So then will he leave? Post what you think.

Doubt it. If he can't/won't go to...

1. Man City - Used to play for United and wouldn't want to ruin his reputation there.
2. Barcelona - Plays for Madrid now...again..he wouldn't want to ruin his reputation.

Also, i don't think he would find a move to Chelsea attractive at all.

TO SUM IT UP: He's staying.

If he does, Man U will be sure to have him back, however now that they have Persie, it seems very unlikely. I can't imagine him leaving to be honest...

Ronaldo isn't a striker, he a left winger which tbh is where an improvement could be made as Ashley Young is quite inconsistent
