Microsoft lied and tried to cover up the mistake of the DLC being free to all players by calling it a 7 day trial saying it was intentional when its clearly wasn't. Neither 343i or Microsoft comments saying it was a 7 day trial. It's all a cover up so they didn't get SUED because it was a scam or rip off to give the first DLC to everyone when members payed for a map pass.
But all of you who have got the DLC free without the map pass are losing it this Monday enjoy it while you have it.

Many of you participated in our 14 Day - Buy and Play program, a special offer that granted early access to six Specializations. As part of that program, we are providing complimentary access to the Crimson Map Pack for a limited time (through Tuesday, December 18 at 9am UTC/GMT). At that time, the complimentary limited access to the Crimson Map Pack will close, and 14 Day - Buy and Play program participants will no longer be able to access the content for online play (please note anybody who has already purchased the Crimson Map Pack or owns the Halo 4 Map Pass or Limited Edition will not be impacted and will continue to have access to the content after the complimentary access period ends).
If you enjoy the new maps and would like to continue playing on them after that date, the Crimson Map Pack can be purchased through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 MS Points, or via purchase of the War Games Map Pass. We hope youre enjoying the special Crimson Map Pack preview, and well see you on the (new!) virtual battlefields.

haha its funny i managed to rake all the achievements anyway, the maps are mediocre at best anyway.

For one its not 343i's fault that there was a glitch in the system. Microsoft really messed up and shouldn't try to cover this up with lies. Also, they might as well just give season pass owners something else worth the money they lost because there's no way they can get rid of something that has already been downloaded to your xbox and tell how they got it. Lol oh well.

They are not taking away the maps from people who bought the season pass or the maps individually, only people who managed to download them for free ha. Ahh well
