I'm doing the quest 'Alduin's Bane' and I can not seem to kill him, I'm using Dragon Rend on him, then slicing him with a Daedric Sword, but his health does not seem to be depleting. Any help to how I can stop him from doing this?

There is a bug where, if you attack Alduin before the initial speech is completed, he becomes immortal. Try reloading and waiting until Alduin attacks first. Other then that, your only option is to keep reloading a previous save until you can damage him.
