Hi as you can tell by the title i have a ps3 with the Red Screen of death. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial that would help me restore it back to working condition. It is on firmware 4.3.1.
I wasn't sure where to put this thread

had 1 RSOD unit and 3 bricked ones. For RSOD you just simply follow the the normal downgrade procedure using a retail .pup not the modded one.
Don't turn the unit on to see if it is in F/S mode. I just go to the next step in the downgrade procedure.
Using any retail firm 3.15 or 3.40 etc. Just not the modded one or 3.55. Once the downgrade/upgrade is done. It will power down like normal.
Don't turn it back on to check it. Use file number 2 to take it back out of f/s mode. Once it powers down again you can now power up as normal. Hopefully this fixes your RSOD.
Follow this same procedure for a bricked ps3. Except if you bricked it during a downgrade/upgrade, then start the entire procedure over from the beginning using a different .pup than the one it bricked with. it should fix it. good luck
