Hey guys, well I have just recently purchased a gaming PC, and have tested a few games (COD4 and MW2). However, when I downloaded a few screen capture programs (Microsoft Expression Encoder, Mirillis Action!, and a few others), I realised that it doesn't actually capture gameplay, and just records the desktop.

I know you can record the gameplay if it was in a window, but this effects the FPS, and I prefer fullscreen. There are a few youtubers such as 'cheatlikeachamp', who did some COD4 Deathrun commentaries, and I would imagine he did it in full screen.

Is there any decent (free / cracked) screen recording software?
If you can recommend any, anything would be appreciated!

Cheers!

Those will not work if you play in full screen mode, fraps will work in full screen, and their are many cracked versions all over YouTube.

Fraps is a terrible screen recording program and limits the FPS to 30-60, I play at 90 PFS.

If I remember correctly I don't think it records in fullscreen, not sure may have a look in a minute.

Ah right, my mistake.. but rumours say it effects gameplay a lot? And when you render it, it stutters?

MSI Afterburner is my favorite, I have my GPU overclock and fans controlled by that. The recording is amazing, maybe lose 2fps average and it takes very good screen shots.
