Ok, after reading everything written, I am going to voice my personal opinion.

I am from the United States. I live in New Jersey, and my friends and their families all have their fair share of firearms. Guns should not be banned, however, a MUCH stricter enforcement should be put in place. For instance, one gun past the date of 1900 per individual. Every person in the family could own their respective gun without ending up with an arsenal, and old gun collectors would still be able to collect. This is just one idea, while it could be a lot stricter I feel that it would suit the current need for gun control along with several other laws/amendments etc.

My answer to things I have seen people write:
No, guns should not be put in a classroom, horrible idea. High school student gets a bad grade or into a fight, loses it, and you have an easy school shooting.

What if he came in with an axe? It would be very easy to swarm the attacker or simply run away.

The country isn't going to split into 50 countries because of Obama implementing gun laws.

If the FBI/SWAT did show up to get your guns, there is very little you would/could do against them, let's be honest.

Yep, that's just kind of what ran through my mind when I was reading everything. Anyone who wants to reply feel free, but please be respectful, and I will be respectful back. This isn't a topic to yell at each other on.

Obama has a point, but is very inconsiderate because 70 % of people use guns how they are supposed to be used.

I believe they also have a halt on all AR-15 (Assault Rifle) buys because when I went to go buy one, they wouldn't let me leave with it even though there is no waiting time in my state.

Who ever said taking away guns would stop these guys? All the stuff you need to make a bomb is sold to the public at Wal-Mart.

My Opinion.

Actually, this is a smart plan. The Connecticut shooting was a disaster. People that are mentally disabled at there house, which has guns is not the best combination. In my opinion mentally disabled or people who have strong anger issues should never be in the reach of firearms. America should make it harder for you to get your gun license. Gun safety is big in the U.S. Remember the Arizona shooting, also. It's times like these America looks at themselves and says how could I prevent this from happening a second time. Also there is no sports shooting reason for a rapid fire gun. Semi Automatic or fully automatic is not used for sports shooting, or recreational target shooting. RIP to all the people from the Connecticut shootings. You're in a better place now.

Let's not forget the Russian, Chinese, and NATO, military forces that are in our country right now, ready to help out our loving/caring government getting our guns. And 1.6 billion rounds ordered for Homeland Security from our government. Many of them hollow points. What the hell are these foreign troops doing on our boarders and closed military bases? Now I don't like America and I'm planning on moving out of here but still.

But here's the thing obesity kills more people than guns do, so should we ban all fatty foods and fast food restaurant. What about alcohol and tobacco, they kill more people but guess what they won't be banned. If they ban or make guns illegal all this will do is open up black market shops for guns or even explosives and then there will be more killing because if someone tries so hard to get a gun from a black market they will basically do whatever they want with it. Almost every single gun owner isn't going to go on a killing spree instead most people use them for shooting ranges/target practice, hunting, home protection, or even collecting them. I don't think everyone should suffer because of what 1 person did.

I'm sorry but police without guns? That sounds like more of a joke to me. They can't take away our right to bear arms. People will find away to get there hands on guns. And as far as for the mass murders it won't solve anything. Ever heard of a bomb? I can go on Google and find out how to make, plant, and detonate one in about 2 minutes. Guns aren't the only way to kill someone. Mr. Lanza could have bought a lighter and a gallon of gas for less than $5 and set the school ablaze. Taking away the guns will solve nothing. People are creative. And what about when someone comes into my house with the gun that they very easily and illegally acquired? I'm not dying because the government's ignorance. I have the right to bear arms. I have the right to defend myself.

if they outlaw guns that wont stop bad people fro getting them its just going to stop people who need guns for self defence.
