Someone trying to sell me something said it would be 8 GBP I'm from America and on the web it says the euro is less then the gbp so is he having me buy through the euro or GBP or are they the same in that context? Europeans help!

He's probably from Great Britain. They use the GBP (Great Britain Pounds)
In the other countries from the EU we use the Euro.
He's going to let you pay him in GBP thats more than the Euro.

GBP = Great British Pound. Used in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales).
Euro = Used in all other countries in Europe (Spain, France, Germany etc.)
1 = 1.23 euro
