I have made an xp farm and no mobs are coming do i have to be a set distance for them to spawn .

Sometimes after a while they will spawn there or maybe somewhere else because its not really a mobs spawn like the ones in monster spawner but chickens could spawn with eggs and I don't know what kind of mobs are you talking about.

You Have To Be 16 Blocks Close To It.
If Your Past 16 Blocks Away It Will not Work.
They Will Not Spawn.

you need to be within 24 blocks of the spawner for them to spawn
