Well just a guess here. When updating your dash you just made it a NON - jtag console.

How did you update? With xbox live?

no not with xbox live i just installed it onto the hdd i still have xell so its still jtagged but i dont get whats wrong with it please someone with good knowledge give us a hand or information

Do you have a default.xex on the root of your hard drive? Because the only time my xbox hangs on the boot animation, (before throwing the E71 error) is when I put one there to test the error lights when I swap out the LED's on an RF module. If not, I guess it could be some sort of nand error. I'm not going to be on XBL for several hours but if you want to PM me a copy of your nand I can try to rebuild it for you?
