Hi all,
Hope it's ok to post this here...
I only know very little modding/reversing...It would be super cool to add the vehicle(the way it handles) and shaders/particles ie: dust, reflections on weapons etc...from BL2.
Am I wasting my time? Is this at all a possibility???
Please advise.

PS...I think it is "somehow" possible since both games use Unreal Engine 3.

To me, it would seem very possible, considering the fact that creating ISO discs and/or running the game off of a JTAG/Devkit/RGH allows you to alter the files in the game, while still running it. (With or without problems)
All you would have to do is create a Borderlands ISO disc with the properties and files altered from Borderlands 2 to run on the default engine for the original Borderlands. Anything is possible when handling data!
