Im not sure that the tallies mean days played because thats saying I already have 2 days and 5 tallies so its wrong

This info isn't 100% correct, remember that Treyarch hasn't released how to rank up yet.

My kd is 86 i have skull with knife no blue eyes but thats cos i stopped playing

Not sure? Do you mean if you do the strategy? If that's what you mean it depends what your K/D is before you do it.

I just went 148 and left game before I was killed. Rank didn't change at all.

I have a 105 k/d ratio which I'm slowly getting up to 120 to see if that is when u get the next rank.

To figure out how many kills I need to reach 120 : 80734 / 768= 105.1xxxxx

120 - 105.1= 14.9
14.9 x 768= 11443 kills needed to achieve 120 k/d ratio . And that's with out anymore downs along the way.

What rank are you now?

I have around a 155 k/d ratio and have shotguns. My friend with a 140 has shotguns as well.

I think its really a combination of kills/downs + high rounds
