Daedric wrote Hello TTG here is another rant by Daedric.
Today I will be covering my dislikes of the media and why they are a group of selfish idiots.

As you may have already heard, there was a shooting in Connecticut today. The media decides to bring in every bit of information whether it is relevant or not just to cause hype, like usual.

They often mentioned and referenced the shooters having Asperger's Syndrome. That right there is a direct attack and insult on my people. As one of the many Autistic people in America and worldwide this angers me. They have done this with many past horrific events and it has the public thinking we are all evil and will probably be the next James Holmes.

But our condition is not the cause of such events. The ratio of murderers with Autism and without Autism is almost even, which goes to show it is not a trait of Asperger's Syndrome or other forms of Autism.

By mentioning such conditions it gives the viewers a general view of us and they start to shun us and bash us, fear us even. The reason I am writing this today and not before is because I was in a shop waiting for my stromboli. As I sat there I heard other customers and workers start talking about the tragic event in Conneticut. It was not long before they were on about the Asperger's Syndrome idea of the media and talking about how Aspie's need to be put away from the public so people are safe and other insane "solutions" or "suspicions".

This really irritates me since if somebody finds out I am an Aspie I may be thought of differently and not accepted for who I am only because of a syndrome.

/rant over
The media can go rot in a pit of fire.
Agreed. If you remember the Trayvon Martin case, the media completely destroyed the case, by taking photos of the victim from years ago, photoshopping them so he appeared more angelic, then releasing them to the public, along with the worst photo of the shooter they could find. The media is garbage.

well crap, if the rate is "about half" then wouldn't that mean that there is more of a chance that people with autism would commit murder? I'm sure the rate of people who don't have autism is higher than those without. And he did have some sort of mental issue... Not sure which, and too lazy to look into it.
