In my opinion It goes like this...

Assassin's Creed 3 (Best)
Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Assassin's Creed (But it came out years ago so...)
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Worst, still good though)

To be honest, I never really enjoyed AC:B mainly because it introduced Multiplayer and I'm not a big fan of that. Also, I didn't like it's story too much...

But, to answer your question, Assassin's Creed 3 is the best in my opinion.

The story for AC 3 was eh I have all of them except for Brotherhood, I'd say Revelations is the best.

AC3, 2 or brotherhood 1 had good story but the controls were bad. Revelations was just terrible

I've played (but not beat) AC3, and it was alright.

AC2 is my favorite AC game. Everything about it was fantastic.

Revelations was the best, but the worst, just to throw my hat into this, is AC3 because it just totally **** up the combat system and the story is shit.

I think that AC3 was the best so far because of the fighting. To me that is all what the game is about!

AC2 was by far the best
