With all the shootings going on I'm confused as to why guns aren't banned.

It won't matter if they ban guns. Criminals break the law, they will break the law to get a gun, they will break the law to cause a shooting.

Exactly. I live in Chicago & right now we are technically at 499 murders this year.. But we've passed 500 , its just that the city is covering up more murders. It was on the news that a woman was burned to death & they put it as decriminalized arson. We should be at 507 murders but they don't want to admit that the government is failing.
Chicago is the murder capital as of right now & we only have 3 million. Compared to New York which has about 9 Million & they're under us in murders by a decent chunk.

A gun ban would lower the number of shootings and gun related crimes. It's a fact. Obviously, if a criminal still wants a gun, he'll find one but only if they REALLY want it and most people who go on shooting sprees don't REALLY want a gun as in they wouldn't go out of their way to find a gun. So yes, banning weapons wouldn't cause ALL gun crimes to disappear, just most of it.

It's because of the mayan calendar doomsday preppers believed in it so they bought guns.

Is it not percentage wise? Scotland only has a population of 5,000,000. Glasgow, in Scotland, has a population of around 600,000 and has more knife crime than New York. Obviously though comparing a city of 9 million to one of 600,000 would be absurd. More people are stabbed or hurt in knife crimes in New York but percentage wise there is a higher rate of knife crime in Glasgow than New York.

I hope you don't live in America after saying that. The 1st and 2nd amendment where two important reasons this country was formed. Guns will never be banned and those that are Americans that want guns banned can either:

1. Leave the US
2. Leave the US
3. And/or Kill yourself
