Hi i have the 3770K with the stock fan. When idle and light use it is 25-28. When playing games it can get up to 50 sometimes. Is this Ok and what is the max temperature you shouldn't go over before it damages. Also I am going to get the H100i with 2 corsair sp120 fans, how much cooler do u think it would be, and louder if so.

The 3770K's TJ max, or the maximum temperature before throttling occurs, is 105 celcius. 50 celcius is ice cold and games won't push the CPU to the limit. For that you could use Prime95 or IntelBurnTest, although both of these put unrealistically huge stress on your CPU so I don't believe in using them for most purposes.

The H100i with two more fans is going to be insanely expensive and possibly incompatible with your case. You probably won't even be overclocking high enough to need it. I'd suggest the Enermax ETS-T40-T.B. if you want a moderate overclock and the Noctua NH-D14 if you want a more extreme overclock because sealed liquid coolers are still not better than high-end air for the price.

How high are you planning to overclock, what is your motherboard, and what is your case?

I have a NZXT Switch 810 which is a huge case, Asus Z77 Sabertooth motherboard and just want to get it as my rig would look nice with it instead of a cooler, also I don't really want an air cooler because I think theyre noisier. I was going to get 2 corsair sp120 quiet fans and use the red ring on them to go with my pc.

And that's where the Corsair coolers really pull through. Looks. Still, if you're going to mount an H100 in any case at the top, you want to have the fan between the case and the radiator. Linus Explains.

I'd also recommend the Noctua NF-F12 for 120mm radiators over the SP120, although they're much more expensive. They're ugly as sin but by mounting them between the rad and the case it doesn't matter. I'd also consider the new NZXT Kraken X60, although I have yet to look into their performance. They use 140mm radiators, so there will be more surface area. Realistically you don't even need to replace these fans, though.
