If I play a solo custom game on easy and bank my points in there, can I use it on an XBL match or are they separate?

yes you can use it on a public match, only rounds don't count in a custom game
Easy and original do count for points!!

I know you can on normal difficulty not sure wether playing easy will affect it.

Yeah it counts i think if you don't change the difficulty.
