So I've heard a few people on Twitter talking about Xbox deleting unused accounts within the upcoming Month. This will obviously create a lot of Original tags, just wondering if anyone can confirm this?

I asked xbox support about two weeks ago about the issue with unused GT's. The person said that they need to be kept for identification purposes

I don't think this will happen, due to the user having all rights to the name. Just like TTG, once its made, it is yours.

Xbox would never delete anyones accounts that they use.. Even if they are old.
