Okay so recently my father had bought me a GeForce 9800 GTX for my birthday. However I am not too sure it will fit in my rig. The card is unused and un-opened. I want to make sure it will fit before I pry the box for it open and try to put it in so I can send it back if it doesn't. Some expert's knowledge would be great as I am just starting to get into computers.

Depends on the slot of the motherboard and the output on the card....
It's like an xbox controller won't work with a PS3

Just make sure you have a spare PCI-E slot on your motherboard:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (it is the x16 one).

I hope you and your father realize that the 9800 is pretty well out of its time. Don't worry about it not fitting, because physically the card is pretty small in comparison to most others.

As long as your PSU has ample wattage and you have an open PCI 2.0 x16 slot you should be just fine.
