You can so get a gift back... what are you people talking about.
If a credit card was used you can always call up your CC company and reverse the payment.
Your question doesn't make much sense either. You didn't say who sent what. That person will still have the transaction in their recent transaction list and proof it was sent. He can't lie about it.
