...and i have a serious issue, it is probably something basic but i have no idea, anyway, i hope you can help....
basically, i am going to buy a wireless router to play xbox and basically have a simple wi-fi connection, but i heard there are two kinds of router, i plug my ethernet cable into the wall next to the telephone cable and i am unsure whether i need to get a cable router or an adsl router?
it's probably a stupid question but i am so confused haha!
PLEASE HELP I WILL BE TRUELY GREATFUL.

OK you probably need to register the router with your uni.
Get intouch with the IT department, or find someone else that has got their router up and running

hello, i had my old router my mum gave me from home before i came to uni, i used that but because my girlfriend gets limited 3G in her halls, i gave her the router so she could use wifi to imessage me. she is still at home and the router is at her uni so i don't know whether it was cable or adsl... it was a belkin but im not 100% which one
