My friend was having the open tray problem so I told him I could fix it. I fixed mine and another one of my friends that also had the open tray problem already so I thought it would once again be no problem. We all have a lite-on drive so everything was the same and did the POT calibration as I did with mine and my friends. However, this time it didn't work. Now the disk spins for less than a second and just quits. There is no second effort or really any effort at all to read the game. It seems as if it doesn't recognize there is a disc in there at all. Any solutions?
Thank you.
Also if I remove the "cable" "ribbon" (not quite sure what its called) that is connected to the laser it spins longer and when I reconnect it, it doesn't try whatsoever.
Thank you.

Sounds like you possibly killed the laser. Are you using a multi meter when calibrating the DVD POT?
