No, you got banned for modding your commendations because that stuff is server sided.

There is a VERY slim chance of getting banned for modding your armor as they have no way of detecting that.

Also, armor modding is modding a local file. If it were like Reach, then it'd not be possible to do online because it's all server sided.

There's a mod tool to mod your commendations, what you've done on campaign (difficulty) and alot more.
