iISpezren wroteAzraelrs wroteiISpezren wrote My Xbox keeps freezing. I got it in Christmas 2008. Is that something to do with it? It freezes and sometimes gets on this very very weird screen with random color patterns and its weird. My friend said it was a Graphics Card Error. And it gets 3 RROD randomly and I turn off and wait like hours and it works.
Check the secondary error code next time it gets "RRoD".. although it does sound like the GPU... I suggest a reflow of said chip.
How do I check the secondary error code and how do I reflow or whatever?
Google "xbox 360 Secondary Error codes"
And there are many good tutorials on repair on Xbox-Experts

Reflow the HANA chip. Use google to look at it if you can't figure it out.

You need to throw it in the trash. If you put screws and washers on it you ruined it. 0022 is usually bridged solder under the GPU. When you put those screws and washers on and tightened them and then turned the console on the heat turned the solder balls under the GPU into a blob. Forget paying for a reflow, you are looking at paying for a reball.

Not likely you will be doing one yourself.. unless you have a $5000 machine and the templates for the BGA arrangement under the GPU... Reballs run from $80~$150.

Four days ago, I went to my friends house to mod my gamertag. I didn't work so later I went home and plugged in my hard-drive. I had the 3 RROD and obviously, I was pissed off. Before I went, I had unplugged everything to get my hard-drive out but I hadn't messed with anything. My XBox is in no way modded or even JTAG'd. It has been tampered with as I have had the RROD before but I have never fixed this problem myself. I just found out how to check my secondary code and I got 0002. There is no video or audio coming out of it and the power brick is orange when I turn it on. I haved tried taking my hard-drive out and turning it on, but to no avail. I looked online to determine what the problem is and it said there was either a cold solder joint under the CPU (I have no idea what this is) or it might be a Network Interface problem and that it might be fixed by loosening the X-Clamps. I have looked for videos on fixing this type of problem but such a video does not exist. I do not know how to open up an XBox.
I was hoping you could tell me how to fix it, whether I could fix it and what exactly is wrong.
