beginners guide to Trinity Rescue Kit
if you dont allready have a TRK image please look at the links at the bottom of this post.

so from here we will go with you have already made a bootable image with TRK and you have loaded into TRK through what ever means you choose to use usb/netboot/livedvd/vm/etc and that you are now at a screen like this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
you will want to first set up your network settings so that TRK can download any data bases/virus definitions/updates/etc.

so to find the info we need to set you will need to first hit alt+F2 this will open a tty session, you will need to be plugged into Ethernet for it to work with out much hassle, run the cmd ifconfig [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
make note or write down your local ip and your default gateway as well as the subnet if its not the normal default 255.255.255.0
you also switch back with alt+f2 if needed.

now press Alt+F1 to go back to the original terminal session [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Select

If you are using virtual Box or Vmware make sure you set your network to be bridged and that cable connected is selected along with either the wifi card or the Ethernet adapter and instead of using the default gateway given with ifconfig in the terminal use your routers actual ip ie 192.168.2.1 also set it as your DNS.
