Johnny-Cash wrote i hate reading little kids from the UK saying that America needs to ban guns . But it's impossible when america has something called the second amendment and it clearly says that "in the case the government get to crazy us civilians can take over with our guns".

Sigh, I'm not even from the UK, and I support gun control. I doubt you know this because you are an ignorant American, but most other places in the world have gun control besides the UK. You can't assume that everyone who doesn't like guns is a little kid. To save me from having to repeat the same damn argument over and over, just read this topic:

From pages 2 onwards.
 if america bans guns we will be in deep shit cause we are on the mexico and canada border and guns will always be sold illegaly so it's like giving criminals guns and not us.

Lol, what is that supposed to mean. I live in Canada, and we have pretty strict gun control in comparison to the US. Sure, there's Mexico, which I'm not sure of, but still. Most Canadians live pretty close to the US. Now, the US has the largest amount of guns per 100 people in the world, and nothing bad has happened when the government took away guns. Infact, gun related crime dropped.

"Guns will always be sold illegaly". Nope, doesn't happen in Canada, the UK, most of Europe where there is gun control, Australia, Japan, etc. Infact, the stricter the gun control, the less gun violence there generally is. For example, Japan has one of the most strict set of gun laws out there, and they have one of the lowest gun-related homicide rates in the world. Compare any country that has strict gun control to the US. In the vast, vast majority of cases, the country that has strict gun control will have a much lower gun related homicide rate when compared to the US.

My opinion on the whole gun issue is that guns are only good for sport - not "self defence". I'm not sure about the majority of people, but I've never been in a true life or death situation where I need a gun or I will certainly die.

I think the US should have a stricter gun control, but not ban guns completely. Guns should be only used for fun on a firing range, they shouldn't be legal in the streets or public places, unless you are using them on a firing range or private property.

The U.S Citizens have a right to have guns. I don't care if anyone from the U.K or U.S says we don't need them. One day you might. If Criminals want Guns they can get guns.

First off i am from the UK and no im not a child ,Im 41 years of age.
Im also ex army so i have a great understanding of firearms.
While i agree that a total ban on guns in America is ridiculous and unlikely to ever happen i also agree that there needs to be more control.
This has nothing to do with any of you loosing your freedom and yes i do understand that alot of you Americans are very respectful when it comes to guns and the laws that surround them ,i have two brothers who live in Texas and they both have a great love and respect of guns.
Lets be brutal here though ..
Guns are meant for killing and using them will result in only one ending DEATH !.
And please don't throw the second amendment at us British ,Yes we understand that it's one of the fundamentals that America was founded on and yes we know that America was won with the gun ,No different than Britain being won with the sword (Not that we all demand the rite to carry one)
Now times have changed and America has grown into one of the leading nations of the world ,Maybe its time your national amendments changed with the times also.
Like i've already said ,I would not like to see a total ban on guns in America but gun control or atleast more of it is something that can only lead to a safer America and isn't that what you all really want ?.

Yes you are correct we need tighter gun control to keep the guns out of the hands of criminals and the mental illness but to ban a certain kind of a weapon like the so called "assault rifle" is ridiculous. Because there are hunting rifles that hold 10+ rounds and takes 3 seconds to reload so banning assault rifles will be useless.

Seeing as how in the states we have the second amendment, and people already own guns and such, they will never be banned and if they are it will be as the proabition was, except with guns. But on the U.K. Side of the argument their stats on deaths and such are considerably lower than here in the states and not having guns probably contributes greatly to that.
