I was talking to a tech guy at FRY'S Electronics and I told him I would be running an i5 3570K, and a GTX 660 ti and he said he recommends a 750w Cooler Master PSU. Do I really need 750w?

I would get a 650w, but both of these models surpass any CM PSU.

Pricing at Fry's is funky. I'd say get the Antec HCG-520M because it's more than adequate to power your system, but with the HX-650 being only $5 more... Can't argue with that. Just know that your system can be powered by a quality ~550w unit. Someone who sells these parts really should know better, but I guess he's just trying to sell you a more expensive product if he does know.

This is my problem with stores such as Microcenter and Fry's. A salesman is trying to sell things. He could care less what's the best bang for your buck, he just wants to make a sale and rob you. When a good friend of mine went to Microcenter to get his build in early summer, he let the salesman build his PC (just get the parts) and then I swapped just about everything out for less expensive and quality parts.

It's just one of those things you can't do anything about unless you know your stuff.
