If I have been reset at prestige 2 do I need to go to prestige 3 to reset my stat and have a positive k/d

There have been mixed comments regarding the whole "Fresh Start" after being reset. Some say that after you have been reset, you can Prestige and then use the Prestige Token on "Fresh Start" and reset all of your stats, so you can start a fresh. Others say that you do need to surpass the Prestige where you were reset from to be able to use the "Fresh Start" option.
I would assume that after you Prestige once, you will be able to use the "Fresh Start" and reset yourself again and start a fresh with no time played and no deaths.

Fresh start restarts the whole game for you so as soon as you do that when u hit first prestige u will have that prestige unlock again. No waiting till when u get to the prestige u reset herself at

I ask to my friend who as been reset like me too and he reser at prestige 1 and all his dead still there so I don' t reset now untill I am prestige 3
