Okay around 1 year ago my laptop broke and i kept the HDD.

Can i put it in this Laptop atm and transfer the C:// data on to a USB then go back to this Current HDD

Old HHD: Sata Windows Vista
New HDD: Sata Windows 8

I believe if you have all of the correct cables, you should be able to plug them in to your laptop and move everything. I remember searching this up, never did it though.
