I just recently received my new PC and unlike my last one, that was full of bloatware, I want to keep this one as cleaned up as possible and only download things I really need.
Are there any recommendations for programs to have?
I have so far,
Skype
Teamspeak
Vegas Pro 12
Fraps
Steam
Core Temp
Chrome
... and a few more.

Some software I've found useful:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (Free, does what name says - removes unwanted processes and attempts to get the most out of your PC's hardware)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (Free, MASSIVE amount of useful tools for keeping your PC running well - registry fix, start-up manager, turbo boost etc.)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (Free, one of the best tools I've ever downloaded. It tints the screen to a warmer light (like that of a halogen lightbulb)when it detects it is dark in your area. It reduces eye strain and makes late-night gaming a whole lot more bearable).
Hope this helps

FlyWire wroteI wouldn't bother with any of that nonsense if I were you. It seems like all you need is an effective anti virus/malware program. I prefer to buy these programs so I can rest assured that I have a program I know works. Obviously I don't expect you to follow suit but it's worth metioning. Just make sure once a week you purge any folders or your desktop of any files you don't need anymore. Regular disk checks and defrags (not SSDs!) don't hurt either.Praxiis wrote Some software I've found useful:

Good advice. As far as antivirus goes i have been using avg anti virus free edition and have never had a problem. But i also always watch what I download and I'm very careful what sites I visit.
