Just a rant.

This keeps irking me the more and more I hear it. I cannot stand citizens who are oblivious to the sacrifices that the men and women of our armed forces (United States of America) make.

Quick example: Citizen in coffee shop watching the news and talking to a friend saying that U.S military personal are baby killers, etc. Yet behind he/she is a soldier who has been deployed on 5 tours to Iraq/Afghanistan and is being criticized by this person for protecting them. Most people don't know what war is like and certainly do not have any room to talk wrongly about anyone in the military. They are oblivious to war and the sacrifices these soldiers make to defend our country. While there and after they come home.

That's all, thanks for reading.

I partially agree. There are a lot of men and women in the military that really want to protect the country and are great people. Then there are those that are horrible that do kill the innocent and other despicable acts. The ones that only acknowledge one or the other (the good or the bad) are the oblivious ones. Soldiers are just like everyday people. Some are the best people you will ever meet, while others are the worst.

They are good, but the way the media works is that they publicise bad and sometimes horrific acts (the one in a million events) and forget the successes.
