What is up guys, this is going to be my first post and my first tutorial, so bare with me.
If you have any questions because you do not understand anything, you can message me, because I can reply right there and then. I must warn you this portion of the tutorial ONLY WORKS WITH CHARGING BATTERY PACKS...and this does not have a off switch, so once you put the battery pack in, the LED turns on automatically, I'd love to show you guys how to turn it on and off, but I have yet to venture through that. BUT lucky for you, LEDs does not drain battery, it's much like it without the LED, so that's fantastic.
Let's Get Started:
So Here's basically what you're going to result in when you're done:

Sadly, I'm not using this controller because I actually like it the way it is. But! I'll be using my old controller that is missing buttons and a ruined guide button, it's still the same thing, just a little OCD kicks in.
Here's what you're going to need:

(Left to Right)
Hot Glue Gun

Xbox 360 Controller

Torx 8 Screwdriver

Solder Wire

Soldering Gun

LED any color(IMPORTANTE: Your led must be 1.6 - 2.8 volts or else it will either explode or have a dim light

Red and Black Wire - You can find these at Radioshack, or if you're too lazy like me, you can find a useless USB lying around and cut that open and extract the red and black wire out. The red wire can be pink sometimes, depends on what you have.

STEP ONE

The first thing that you're going to do is that you're going to take your torx 8 screwdriver and unscrew everything in the back, if you take out your battery pack, you would have to poke a hole through the bar code and unscrew that extra screw.

STEP TWO

Carefully take out the back plate and put it aside.

Extract the motherboard from the faceplate, and put that aside for now.

Step Four
Extract the Guide button, [this is mine and because I was stupid i messed up my guide button in the past. Don't Judge me. Ignore the hole because I messed up THAT MUCH.]
You have two choices, you can either take a drill and drill out the cross, don't punch a hole like I did. So you want to take your drill and rub the sides down and the middle of the cross.

OR

you can take your solder iron and melt the plastic. DON'T DO WHAT I DID AND MELT A HOLE IN IT. Rub the excess plastic out.

Step Five:

Take your scissors and snip wire off of whatever you had it from, make sure they're short, but not that short, much like the one in the picture...If that makes sense...

Step Six:
I am a horrible solder, just thought i'd put it out there.

Strip your wires on both ends and pre-solder the tips as so:

Step Seven:

Solder your LED to the wire, KEEP IN MIND: Positive is the longer strand on the LED, Negative is, you guessed it, the shorter end. You will need this soon. So I color coded this, BLACK is Negative and RED is Positive.

Step Eight:[/b]

Take your Guide Button and your Glue Gun and fill it ALMOST HALF WAY.

While the Glue is still hot, place your LED in till as the tip touches the bottom.

Step Ten:
While we're waiting for that to dry, we are going to switch over to the controller:
There are four points in the middle of the board. PAY ATTENTION because this is wear the positive and negatives set in.

The Far left point is the NEGITIVE point, The Far right is the POSITIVE point.

Step Eleven:

Solder the POSITIVE WIRE to the POSITIVE POINT(FAR RIGHT) on the Motherboard do the same to the NEGATIVE WIRE to the NEGATIVE POINT

Place everything in place as you would putting the controller back together, the wire would run under the rubber mat and should fit perfectly.

With you at least holding everything together, should be good enough to actually test it when you put the battery pack in, which is what I'm doing in this picture.
