Hey TTG,
I need help upgrading my Pc's CPU. I have no idea on which type I should get so I'm here for some help! (Don't worry I know how to attach the CPU to the motherboard!)
My Pc is a Dell OptiPlex GX620 I have no idea on what the motherboard is and if you would like to know please tell me how to find it, I am trying to upgrade it because I want to run java games like Runescape on low and go on the internet without my CPU running at 100%! If I really need to I will buy a bigger tower so that I can add a graphics card but I don't think I need to at this point, my RAM is maxed out at 4GB.

There is no real way to know with mobos like that. I'm assuming you have a different socket than 1155. I would reccommend to save and build a new pc for 450 and it could probably run bf3 at low settings. Look at r00ts sticky. He has some good budget builds there.

After doing some research on your computer, I found that it's old (in my eyes). It wouldn't be worth upgrading bits and pieces of it, especially the CPU. You never want to drop a new CPU in a crap motherboard in a pre-built. I highly suggest you save up and build a new PC.
