He doesn't need a CPU upgrade, not that that's even an upgrade at all. For gaming and nearly everything else, it's a downgrade and he'd need to buy a new motherboard as well.

Intell is better for gaming. Getting a AMD processor will require a new board..

His 3570k performs at a lower wattage and probably about the same, even better when overclocked. Switching to 8350 would be stupid for 2 reasons:

No greater performance.
He'd also need to get a new motherboard.
