MD5 wroteso will that be an upgrade and I want a better card so I will be able to play the new games on high graphicsddanny97 wroteMD5 wrotemy budget is about 60 and I have had no problems with my alienware and it can play bf3 on ultra so I don't think the is anything wrong with itRuLeWreX wrote I hope you realise that you would be downgrading your gpu. Bigger numbers mean it's better!
I Really Hope That You Are Just a Troll Because That Statement Is NOT True Whatsoever.
OP, What Is Your Budget For a Graphics Card? Because They Are Both Very Low End Cards, You Really Made a Mistake Buying That Alienware.

If You Can Play a Graphically Intense Game Like BF3, Why The Upgrade?

If You Want a Decent Card, Then You Will Need to At Least Double Your Budget.

It's A Better Card Than Your Current One, But It Won't Play Games Very Good, You Need To Double And If You Can Triple Your Budget So You Can Get a GTX 670 Which Is The Best All Around Card For Price-Performance At The Moment.

It's the best card at its price point, yes, but there is no such thing as an all-around best card for the price. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

It's also very unlikely the PSU or case in the X51 can support cards like this. Yet again, he needs to sell the X51.

The 7970 is faster in the majority of games, but the 670 can be had for less albeit with less-capable coolers. HWcompare means next to nothing, though, and you should use real-world benchmarks instead.

I know, just wanted to show that the 7970's hardware is superior.

Considering the power consumption, technically the 670 has better hardware because performance per watt is better. The 7970 is still a better buy, though, all things considered.
