Pokemon doesn't have a contract with Nintendo, because pokemon isn't a company. In fact, pokemon was started by Nintendo, and is still owned and made by Nintendo every time a new installment comes out.

So pokemon would be allowed to be played on a different console as long as Nintendo says It's okay?

Absolutely. However, this probably won't happen because Nintendo likes to have Pokemon as a console exclusive. It is a very good way to promote their own hardware because they can say "Look everyone, you can only play Pokemon on this console, so BUY IT!" People really respond to this type of marketing. It would be a bad move for Nintendo to license Pokemon to other developers as they would lose a lot of money and probably get caught up in some expensive legal fiasco.

Ehhh, I don't really know how stuff like this works but, If they allowed a game company create a game something like the one I posted for xbox would bring in some cash. A lot of People don't like to play on small pix elated screens with only walking in 2D grass. People want A game That is never ending with a lo of surprises.

note there is a pokemon mod for skyrim. but its in beta stages, so not the best
