if i am jailbroke on 6.0.1 should i update through itunes or can i just plug it in and press jialbreak and itll give me untethered?

6.0.1 is supported but if it was an Over the air update I strongly advise to restore to 6.1 in iTunes. As pod2g says OTA uses different shsh blobs however it should still work - but it is untested apparently.
