happens to me to, for some reason i used to snap back and be looking at a water bottle at school, messed up i know. I think that you are physically awake and alert but your mind is at rest since you don't fall asleep or anything (or atleast i havent ever got caught in school before)
and the deja vu part is weird i dont have an explanation for that but it happens to me to ahahha

At fire I thought you were talking about day dreaming but when you had a weird feeling of deja vu I knew I was off. I think that this has happened to me one time. Pretty weird.

I would do it in school. When the teacher was talking I would just stare at them at then I would start to feel weird. I was wondering if everything around me was real. It's a weird feeling.

GumMice wrote happens to me to, for some reason i used to snap back and be looking at a water bottle at school, messed up i know. I think that you are physically awake and alert but your mind is at rest since you don't fall asleep or anything (or atleast i havent ever got caught in school before)actually what is going on in your brain when this happens is that you have a spike in theta and delta waves that are crossing at peak intervals higher than your alpha/beta/gamma oddly enough its very common and most noted as a operating state while in meditation or if there is a mild A.D.D like rouge frequencies ie high alpha on a regular basis in certain area's of the brain which i will point out nearly every has even if its so mild its not noticed in daily life.in other words its just part of being human :2thumbsup:.
and the deja vu part is weird i dont have an explanation for that but it happens to me to ahahha
its also recorded that Archimedes would hold a pipe in his hand and site on the edge of his bed until he would begin to fall asleep at which point when he would lose his grip on the pipe and it would fall to the floor as he was falling asleep he wold get up and immediately write down any ideas or thoughts he was having. what we know now from EKG's and Neurofeedback is that Theta and Delta are not only crossing but at their most dominant at this point in the brains daily activity. This also occurs to some people while in the shower or while under extenuated physical activities as well as while meditating or reciting mantras among plenty of other things. It is a very very important cycle of the brains activity and can lead to "out of the box" insight into ones life or as with Archimedes and Nikola Tesla a great aide in coming up with new creative idea's, concepts, theory's and inventions.
deja vu is a slight miss firing with in the brains neuro nests. pretty much you perceive 5-30 seconds and the brain while having processed messes up in its signal timing with transmitting within the neuro nests of the brain so it gets replayed/ relived to the observer as if something that just happened has repeated its self. again its just part of being human, but with seizure prone people it is a sign that a seizure is about to happen.
