Are you sure you lvl 55 bar is filled to the max?

If so, try leaving multiplayer and coming back into it. I have seen multiple posts about this problem.

It's been happening to a few users ever since the DLC update. Probably just a bug with the DLC.

No, you "Auto" become prestige master when you hit the max level.
