I have heard and I believe it is confirmed that it will be using skype.

It should be coming to the 360 in the next update. I believe it will just be a test run and see how things go. We might have another dashboard Beta to test out the skype feature. It might be a success, or it might fail. Something like this will be added to the Xbox720 for sure though. I don't think it will be the normal parties anymore more, I hope not.

Skype will not be fully on the 360. There will be an open beta in March and a full update in May. But you will not see all the features until the 720 release this December.

Skype is replacing our current audio/chat system on the 360 in the next update, if all goes well with it, I can almost guarantee it will be added to the 720.
