ok well no you dont need the tally marks to rank up, but you need the revives, headshots, doors etc. these things dont contribute to the rank as much as your KD, but they still count towards it. And you need to try to play more games and get to high rounds.
And you usually start to get better chances for the shotguns when you get around 50,000 kills.
I was the skull, and made it to round 100 with around 25000 kills and i still didnt rank up to the knife. and i had like a 100+ kd.
But i played another game and made it to round 30 something and i ranked up after that game. so if you havent ranked up yet just try to make it to a high round and keep in mind that you need the other things too.

babyjay its a f u c k i n g game for christs sake quit getting so upset about it and if you call it a glitch your crazy i mean if thats a glitch then so is sitting at the top of the escalator by quick revive with a sliquifier and not clearing the debry
