I'm currently in development of version 2 of Helix. It will have a ton of tutorials on SVG, C#, HTML, CSS programing as well as Minecraft modding and servers, SVG coding and graphics. I will be offering the same services, a extensive resources section, and a community IRC. Stay tuned for updates and follow me on twitter, @helixdev

Well since it's been a while since I've experimented with web dev languages I decided to screw around witch lead to a small website/business. Check it out and tell me how you like the look of it. I've been working on it for 4 days and am happy with the outcome. Note that everything on the website is accurate but this was more of a practice type of thing that evolved from bordem. Enjoi..

very nice Not to be to picky but the bar at the bottom that doesn't move is kind of annoying. I really like the way u created the layout though. I took a look at your codes and i couldn't figure out what code you used to keep the top logo and navigation menu. I really liked it and wanted to know if you would be willing to send me the code line so I could incorporate it into my own webpage. One other thing i noticed is that you still use the old way of setting up text. You still are using tables to layout your site. So, I was wondering if there is a benefit of doing that over creating a navigation menu?

There aren't any tables on that site? To keep an element at the top just simply use 'position:fixed' and 'top:0px'

Nice site though, It's clean and simple.
Perhaps you could use sprites though? as you have quite a lot of images or considering the header image is a tile pattern you can cut it considerably. As I'm noticing a bit of a delay in its rendering. I agree with badger about the footer though but honestly these are only small things I thought I'd mention, it's very nice don't get me wrong. I like simplicity.

Don't forget you have to change the positioning to fixed and set right and left to 0, but your are correct. And if rendering becomes more of a issue I will be sure to take your advice. I was also a little iffy about the fixed header and footer but I found it a bit unique and it grew on me so that's why I kept it.

Thanks for your feedback..

Mother of centering...

Why do you think centering everything is okay?

Centering isn't everything, this is your interpretation not a input, okay? I simply prefer a balanced look to something a lob sided type writer would make.

Its is a centered div layout and personally if its a site for designers, or a portfolio i think you should let your imagination run wild!

To be quite honest it's pretty good overall and the design is pretty nice. I don't think there is really anything wrong with it except i did see that you capatalized the n in designing on the home page in the first sentance.

Edit: List of new errors/spelling mistakes

  • Under "What do we offer?" in the second paragraph last sentance you used "your" where as you should of used either "you'll" or "you will"
  • Under "What do we offer?" in the fourth paragraph you spelled "Laungages" when it should be "Languages"
  • Under "What do we offer?" in the fifth paragraph you used "choose" when it should be "choice"
  • Under "What do we offer?" in the last paragraph there are 2 mistakes. 1. You used "your" when it should be "you're" 2. Added in an extra "t" in setup.
  • Under "What is our Prices?" you switchd the "p" and "a" in paypal
  • Under "Join us!" in the second paragraph you spelled "postion" when it is spelled "position"
  • Under "Join us!" you spelled "opourunitys" when it is spelled "opportunities"

Thanks, I will fix it first thing tomorrow morning, I was actually looking for people to pick up on things I missed.

Centering everything on a page is amateur stuff. Anyone can center everything on a webpage.
