Hi I recently got a free windows 8 code from a buddy so I got an Iso and mounted it and installed it on my second hard drive (which is really old and really slow) because I don't have enough space on my SSD. So the installation went fine but the code didn't work. I skipped it during installation to see if I had copied it wrong from the message he sent me. But anyways, I couldn't activate it and I want it uninstalled. When I try to delete the windows folder, I don't have permission. Do I have to take ownership of it? Thanks, also I still have my windows 7 with all my files on my ssd so I don't have to worry about deleting that. Thanks!

Unless you installed it over windows 7 you would need to use the OEM version for a fresh install. (THAT is why the code doesn't work) It says NOTHING about that on the box of Windows 8 Professional. It's a ripoff, and IMO the OS stinks anyway.
plug the drive into your computer and boot from the SSD. I'm guessing that will bring you to your normal setup. From there go into computer and just format the drive or delete the files.
I hope that explains it, I feel for you since I was in the exact same situation.

I think it was installed over w7 becuase I can't choose my os like a duel boot, it has windows 8 on volume 5 and windows 8 on volume 2. So i have to do a complete system restore?
