When I dream I see people I know. People I've spoken to. And I remember my most recent dream almost clearly. My friend over XBL, Gabriel once told me that he went through an event in his life when his house burnt down. Well in my dream, I saw him, not knowing what he looked like but I knew who his mom was, who he was and who other people in the dream were and what they look like. Well in the dream the world was weird. felt scary and fearful. And because I over hear Gabriel and his mom arguing over small things in the background on XBL (kinect mic) Gabriel ran off away from home before the house caught fire. I went in and saved his little brother Jayden. (somehow i knew who he was) saved his mom and some people i've never seen before. I woke up from the dream after a few smaller events i can't seem to describe but i can still picture in my mind.

The funny thing is I never knew gabriel had a little brother before hand. didnt even know his name, today i asked him if he had a little brother. he said yes. i asked if his name was jayden. he said yes. he was weirded out of course, and so was i. I didn't tell him about my dream because it would be awkward telling him i had a dream about his family..

Somehow i connected the fact that his house burnt down in the past. and his present relatonship with his mother, Not so good. so he ran away. his house burnt down. I knew who everbody was and looked like. I must have created my own scenario of his past. And lived it.

But, as soon as you did that, you wouldn't be able to accept what is now your reality as a fake reality so it would be a complete illusion that you would unconsciously create.

Then, perhaps you would somehow achieve a state of enlightenment in which you break free from the Illusion, you break through the metaphorical 4th wall which would take you back to not accepting the fake reality?

Perhaps this would be when you wake up?

We could all be in a coma right now...?

I have actually realized that i am in a dream and began controlling things a few times. The only problem is that whenever this happens it lasts for a VERY short time and i usually just wake up almost instantly after i realize i am dreaming.

Yes, but is being in a dream and being in a coma philosophically and physiologically the same thing?

People in Comas describe how they could hear people around them but were still in a dream state, so they were in touch with reality but dreaming at the same time.

To me, this solidifies the difference between a coma and being in a dream state.
I don't think the two are comparable, but that's just my personal opinion.

Wow, sounds like a weird story. Do you think it could just be small things that you've picked up subliminally? For example, hearing him say Jayden over XBL?
